ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jennifer Lancaster Dana is a mom of 5, former agency executive turned author. Little did she know that the fast paced, 24/7 problem-solving work of managing Fortune 500 clients would perfectly prepare her for raising 5 kids (3 of her own and 2 bonus kids). Her quarterly team-building meetings about how to properly load the dishwasher were legendary

The genesis of "Not Your Mother's Advice" arose 10 years ago when family members were heading to university and she began reflecting on her experience; partying, dating, living with roommates, and yes, even going to class. Combined with her post-college life experience, what materialized was a comprehensive guidebook that tackles topics such as sex, alcohol, emotions, friendships, and even money management skills. Each chapter provides practical approaches to navigating the 100+ situations that arise when emerging adults transition into the real world.

Raw and funny, Jennifer freely shares her own, sometimes embarrassing experiences, going where few parents dare to go -- or even want to remember.  While her kids will be appalled that she is openly sharing her sexual awakening and strip club adventures (not on stage!), she figures she’s earned the right to embarrass her kids -- payback’s a bitch.

Jennifer lives in Colorado with her husband and their spoiled dog, while their three youngest children are off at university, presumably studying diligently in the library.
